Meet The Doctors

Dr Samuel MattsonDr. Samuel Mattson was born in Portland, Oregon. He attended Sunset High School in Beaverton and went on to receive his bachelors degree in microbiology from Oregon State University. From 2004 to 2011, Dr. Mattson taught part time as an associate professor at OHSU's school of dentistry before dedicating himself full time to his Aloha practice. In 2007, 2010 and 2011, Dr. Mattson was selected by his peers (reported in the Portland Monthly Magazine) as one of the top dentists in the greater Portland metropolitan area. Being a Portland native, he views this professional recognition as a great honor.

Away from his practice, Dr. Mattson enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. As a huge sports enthusiast, you can find Dr. Mattson enjoying Autumn Saturdays tailgating with family and friends at college football games. In the winter months, his attention shifts towards our Portland Trailblazers basketball team. If any free time remains, Dr. Mattson enjoys golfing, snowboarding, and many other outdoor activities.

Dr. Mattson is associated with the American Dental Association, Oregon Dental Association, American Academy of General Dentists as well as local study groups.

Dr James MattsonDr. James Mattson was also born in Portland, Oregon, where he attended Milwaukie High School. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Oregon State University, and his Doctorate at the University of Oregon Dental School in Portland (now OHSU). Dr. Mattson has been on staff as a clinical associate professor at OHSU, and he is currently practicing fulltime in his Aloha practice. He was selected as one of Portland’s top dentists by Portland Monthly Magazine in 2006, 2007, 2010 and 2011.

In his free time, Dr. Mattson enjoys fishing, woodworking, automobile mechanics, and local and statewide sporting events. Most of all he enjoys spending time with his wife, their three children and recent grandchildren. Dr. Mattson is associated with the American Dental Association, Oregon Dental Association, American Academy of General Dentists, and local study clubs as well.
